J-Hope just dropped an intriguing video teaser for his upcoming single, “Mona Lisa.”
In a 31-second clip, the BTS member is seen sitting in an all-white art gallery displaying a woman’s portraits. When J-Hope stands up, somebody leaves a white paint mark on his cheek.
According to a previous announcement on the BTS Weverse page, the upcoming release is a hip-hop and R&B track “that celebrates a captivating person by playfully comparing them to the iconic masterpiece ‘Mona Lisa,’ which has charmed the world for centuries.”
“Through this song, J-Hope conveys that true allure lies not in one’s external beauty but in the unique qualities that make the person special,” the announcement added.
The song is also a surprise from the artist to his fans, to thank them for their love and support.
J-Hope teased the single on his Instagram Story, where he posted a photo of the “Mona Lisa” painting. He also posted snippets of the song on his social media pages.
“Mona Lisa” comes out on March 21 at 12 p.m., Philippine time.
J-Hope released his latest solo single, “Sweet Dreams,” this March, featuring R&B singer Miguel. It is his first song since completing his mandatory military service in 2024.
The song has started a new dance challenge, which several K-Pop stars like Twice and Seventeen have participated in.
In April, J-Hope will hold a two-night concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena for his Hope on the Stage solo tour. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
