MANILA, Philippines — Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) is aiming for a 10 percent growth in sales this year, banking on continued demand for trucks.

“We’re projecting at least a 10 percent increase,” Robert Carlos, assistant division head for sales at IPC told reporters.

IPC’s total sales rose slightly to 17,641 units last year from 17,607 units in 2023.

Last year was a milestone for IPC as it marked 25 years as the country’s leading truck brand.

IPC sold 4,591 truck units and accounted for 41 percent of the market last year.

In January this year, IPC’s total vehicle sales went up by 16.3 percent to 1,355 units from 1,165 units in the same month in 2024.

IPC’s top-selling vehicles are the Traviz lightweight truck, D-Max pickup and N-Series light-duty trucks.

Carlos said this year’s sales are expected to be driven by commercial trucks.

The S&E Series heavy-duty trucks, unveiled during the 2025 Isuzu Truck Fest held on Feb.28 to March 2 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, are also expected to support sales this year.

IPC currently produces the N-Series and F-Series trucks at its plant in Laguna, while the other vehicles in the lineup are being imported.

Asked if there are plans to bring in hybrid or pure electric vehicles, Carlos said the company is studying what products would be suitable for the Philippine market.

Among IPC’s considerations are the price and model specifications.
