MANILA, Philippines – Some of us may still feel the shock, the sharp sense of disbelief, whether positively or negatively, over the startling fact that ex-president Rodrigo Duterte is now actually detained by the International Criminal Court. We can expect another surge in public calls for his return to the Philippines when he turns 80 years old on March 28.
Will this affect public support for the ICC? And will it color how the public remembers Duterte’s so-called war on drugs?
