Donald Trump started his second term by dramatically reversing course: pardon for January 6 criminals, withdrawal from the World Health Organization and the Paris climate change treaty, firing senior immigration officials — it’s a long list. It was 100% predictable but nevertheless still shocking.
How much will Trump 2.0 change the United States? And what are the prospects for resisting all that change?
To shed a Filipino-American perspective on the issue, Rappler columnist and editorial consultant John Nery is joined by US immigration lawyer and civic leader Rodel Rodis. Rodis served for almost two decades as an elected member of the San Francisco Community College Board and was chair of the Pilipino Studies Department in the School of Ethnic Studies in San Francisco State University. He is also the co-founder of the National Federation of Filipino-American Associations.
