Jeffrey Manalo, Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center deputy executive director, in September last year confirmed that the unsolicited pro-posal of the subsidiary of the Villar Group of Companies to operate the airport has succeeded in the negotiation phase.
The PPP project for the Iloilo Airport is valued at P12.79 billion and includes expanding the PTB's capacity and constructing an apron adja-cent to the new passenger terminal building (PTB).
The project also includes renovating and maintaining the existing terminal building, installing necessary equipment for passenger services, and operating and maintaining the PTBs and equipment utilities throughout the concession period.
Beyond the PPP project, the General Appropriations Act 2024 has allocated P190.56 million for airport repairs and improvements.
