CAMP TOLENTINO, Balanga City — The Bataan Police Provincial Office reported on Sunday the confiscation of seven fishing boats and arrest of 11 crew during an anti-illegal fishing operation conducted along the municipal waters of Barangay Wawa in Orion, Bataan on Saturday.
Bataan Police director Col. Palmer Tria said that in separate operations, firearms were surrendered and others seized, also on Saturday.
He said the fishermen were caught by operatives of the Orion Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Bantay Dagat personnel.
All fishing boats, with estimated value of P240,000, were placed under the custody of the Bantay Dagat while the crews were placed under the control of Orion MPS for proper disposition.
Tria said the apprehended individuals will face charges for violation of Municipal Ordinance 20-020-123, Section 47 (Active Gear), Section 60 (Unauthorized Fishing; Fine Mesh Net) and Section 45 (Destructive Method of Fishing).

Meanwhile, in their "Oplan Katok" operations, police officers delivered notices and conducted house visits to remind gun owners to renew their licenses or deposit their firearms.
Tria said firearms surrendered by owners in Bagac were a 9mm Taurus pistol and an Armscor 9mm pistol.
Meanwhile, a tracker team from the Dinalupihan Municipal Police Station together with other police operatives arrested the No. 10 most wanted in Bataan for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and violation of Comelec Resolution 11067 (Omnibus Election Code) or gun ban.
Seized during the operation were three improvised shotguns and a "sumpak" (improvised firearm) with ammunition.
