Hyundai introduces new Ioniq 5, Ioniq 9, and Palisade Hybrid
Hyundai is giving buyers many more options to electrify their daily drive or weekend journeys with three new models that offers more space, power, and range. It took the wraps off its line of flagship electric vehicles, the updated Ioniq 5 and new Ioniq 9, as well as updated its Palisade offering with a new Hybrid variant.
Ioniq 9
The first of the electrified trio is the Ioniq 9, which Hyundai calls a full-sized E-SUV. The Ioniq 9 boasts sedan-like aerodynamics within an SUV frame. Its notable features include cube projection headlights, digital side mirrors, and a digital center mirror.
Inside, the Ioniq 9 offers generous space for its six-seat configuration thanks to the long wheelbase. Center seats can stretch to a full-flat form to truly enjoy its panoramic sunroof and lounge-like cabin. It also comes with a cavernous 1,323L of cargo space.
The driver gets a panoramic curved infotainment display, offering intuitive access to navigation, entertainment, as well as vehicle functions and information. It’s paired with a premium Bose sound system.
The Ioniq 9 is at home in both urban streets or off-road terrain, thanks to its Multi-Terrain Control that adapts seamlessly to conditions. Furthermore, it comes with Hyundai SmartSense, the brand’s signature suite of auxiliary safety features as well as ten airbags. A built-in front and back camera also helps the vehicle navigate in tight confines.
Powered by a 110.3-kWh battery, the Ioniq 9 can drive as far as 600-km from a full charge and replenish that with just 24-minutes of charging time when connected to a DC fast charger. It also has V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionalities, making it serve as a power source in times of blackouts or power small appliances during a camping trip.
The Ioniq 9 will retail for ₱4,580,000.00 and can be ordered at select Hyundai dealerships. Each Ioniq 9 unit sold will be made-to-order. It comes in a range of 10 exterior colors and four interior colors, which can be mixed and matched to up to 39 combinations.
Ioniq 5
Launched alongside was the improved Ioniq 5. It features a redesigned front bumper and new alloy wheels. It also has digital side mirrors and a rear wiper.
It’s battery now delivers up to 530-km of driving from a full charge. Its maximum output of 229-PS gives it responsive, refined performance that adapts confidently to any drive.
Hyundai has enhanced its SmartSense suite with additional Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features to now include Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance Assist and Side Parking Distance Warning.
Like the Ioniq 9, it also has V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functions, enabling users to power small appliances or charge devices directly from the vehicle.
The new Ioniq 5 is available in three variants for the following prices: GL 2WD Standard Range (₱2,840,000); GLS 2WD Standard Range (₱3,068,000); and GLS 2WD Long Range (₱3,698,000).
It is also made-to-order, available in nine exterior and four interior colors – allowing up to 36 different color combinations. Its warranty covers five years or 200,000-km, whichever comes first. While warranty coverage for its high voltage battery is provided for eight years or 160,000-km, whichever comes first.
Palisade Hybrid
For those not quite ready to make the leap to full-electric, Hyundai adds the all-new Palisade Hybrid, the latest addition to its growing lineup of hybrid SUVs that already include the Tucson and Santa Fe.
The Palisade Hybrid is fitted with wide-projection LED headlamps, an upscale SUV form, and 21-inch alloy wheels. Under the hood is a 2.5-liter Turbo Hybrid engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Being a hybrid, it seamlessly switches between ICE and EV modes for enhanced fuel efficiency, or can harness both sources simultaneously to deliver an impressive 334-PS of power.
Its cabin is packed with intuitive technologies like fingerprint recognition for Audio, Visual, Navigation (AVN) and engine start, making the ride as secure as it is personalized. Its integrated 12.3-inch digital instrument display provides a vast screen to access the vehicle’s functions. In-car entertainment is further enhanced with its Bose premium sound system for high-quality audio and music.
Passengers get power seats, passenger lumbar support, and ventilated rear seats. Both first and second rows are fitted with relaxation seats, allowing passengers to recline in comfort. At the center is a deluxe console box with a UV-C tray that can store and disinfect small items for hygiene and convenience.
The designated driver of the Palisade will surely be a pampered one. It comes equipped with Hyundai SmartSense advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), with features like Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance Assist and Side Parking Distance Warning.
There’s also a heads-up display that shows the vehicle’s speed is displayed in the driver’s field of vision. Added convenience comes in the form of a rain sensor that automatically switches on the car’s wipers once rain is detected. Switching between driving modes is made swifter with Drive Mode Integrated Control.
The all-new Palisade Hybrid is priced at ₱3,980,000 with a similar five years or 200,000-km vehicle warranty and eight years or 160,000-km battery warranty. All vehicles are now officially on sale.
