HUAWEI confirms to add GCash QR payment feature to more wearables

3 weeks ago 9

Huawei previously promised a convenient QR payment option via GCash for the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Series and other select wearables, initially released in Q4 2024.

The GCash Watch Pay essentially lets users pay directly using their HUAWEI wearables via a QR code.

Now, that feature becomes more accessible as the brand will add ‘GCash Watch Pay’ to more HUAWEI wearables. As of writing, however, Huawei has yet to make a list of its wearables that will support the QR payment feature.

Huawei did reveal that not only its smartwatches will get GCash Watch Pay, but also its fitness trackers. That is, at least, according to their presentation at the HUAWEI Mate XT tri-folding phone global launch in Malaysia.

Furthermore, users can feel safe using such feature as Huawei collaborated directly with GCash under the supervision of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

Keep an eye out for further updates!
