MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has declared special non-working holidays in Pulilan, Bulacan and Butuan, Agusan del Norte for the celebration of local festivals.
Proclamation 1213 declared May 14 a special non-working day in Pulilan for the celebration of the Kneeling Carabao Festival in honor of San Isidro Labrador, patron saint of farmers.
Meanwhile, Proclamation 1214 declared May 19 a special non-working day in Butuan for the celebration of the Balangay Festival.
Butuan’s annual festival celebrates the declaration of the excavated balangay boats as National Cultural Treasures in 1987.
