MANILA, Philippines — For years, vivo’s V-series has been a mainstay of the mid-range market, carving out a reputation for delivering "flagship-lite" experiences.
It has consistently catered to those looking for a stylish, dependable device that delivers well in photography with a justifiable price tag.
Now, in 2026, the mid-range market remains crowded, yet vivo is leaning into that legacy with the arrival of the new vivo V70—another well-rounded package that, based on our recent experiences, does deliver where it matters.
We’ve recently spent a good time with this device, and here’s how it holds up in the real world.
A refreshed, premium look

If you’ve been following the vivo series through the years, you’ll notice right away how the new vivo V70’s design is a departure from previous iterations.
The V70 debuts an all-new look featuring an Aerospace-Grade Aluminum Alloy Frame, a refined Flagship Metallic Camera Module, and ultra-thin bezels—delivering a refined and well-balanced aesthetic that feels good on the hand as well.
On the front, the vivo V70 showcases a 6.59-inch flat 1.5K Ultra Clear OLED display. We experienced this firsthand as a major step forward; those incredibly slim 1.25mm bezels provide an immersive, modern viewing experience.
Meanwhile, the camera module, sitting on the top-left corner with the vivo’s Aura Light, is now crafted from metal, which significantly elevates the phone’s premium feel.
Our review unit came in the Golden Hour variant, and full disclosure: I brought this phone outside even before reading the box or the paperwork.
At first, I actually thought water had seeped through the back. It took me a moment to realize that the Golden Hour finish features a clever, etched glass design that mimics a seaside sunset. When it catches the light, it genuinely gives off that golden illusion at the back that adds a splash of personality if you want to depart from the usual mattes or blacks.
The new look of the vivo V70 is a welcome refresh for the V-series, and it truly does lend a premium, elegant look and feel to the device.
Focus on the cameras
The V70’s crown jewel remains its partnership with optics legend ZEISS. Photography has always been the heartbeat of the V-series, and this latest iteration doubles down on that heritage.
We spent some time testing its new triple-camera array, which is headlined by a 50MP ZEISS OIS Main CCamera, a 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera capable of 3x optical and up to 100x digital zoom, and an 8MP ZEISS Ultra Wide-Angle Camera.

As usual, the vivo V70 still delivers amazing results, especially in Portrait Mode. The variety of bokehs you can play with still positions the vivo V70 as truly a pro when it comes to portraits.
Even at night, the camera does wonders.

We also experimented with the ZEISS Multifocal Portrait system, switching between the 23mm landscape view and the 100mm close-up, and subject separation still felt clean and natural even with complex backgrounds.
Another standout in the camera department is how vivo leverages Artificial Intelligence to deliver a smarter photography experience across diverse environments—most notably with the new AI Stage Mode.
Engineered specifically for the challenging lights of concerts and festivals, this mode utilizes the 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera and advanced AI Image Enhancement to achieve up to 20x zoom.
We tried this out at a distance and were impressed by how the AI sharpens details and clarifies facial features. Even at 10x zoom, AI Stage Mode captures remarkably crisp, close-up shots, effectively bringing you to the front row for a clear view of your favorite performers.

Apart from this, new AI capabilities in the vivo V70’s cameras are the following:
- AI Audio Noise Eraser which utilizes intelligent algorithms to isolate voices from background clutter like wind or loud music, letting you clean up your recordings and highlight the sounds that actually matter.
- AI Magic Weather acts as a digital eraser for bad timing; it can swap out overcast skies for a vibrant sunset and remove unwanted passersby from your frame, ensuring a clean, "vacation-ready" photo regardless of the weather or crowd.

Another thing, V70 also introduced 4K 60 fps video to the V-series for the first time. While we haven’t put it through an exhaustive gauntlet yet, the jump to 60 fps promises much smoother, more fluid motion—ideal for capturing the energy of live performances or fast-moving subjects with cinematic clarity.
Dependable, all-around performance
Under the hood, V70’s performance is handled by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC. While this is the same chipset that powered the V60, we experienced zero issues with daily tasks. Whether it’s heavy social media scrolling or multitasking, the V70 remains snappy.
Even during gaming sessions, the phone offers a decent experience with impressive thermal controls that keep things from getting too hot to handle.
On the software front, the experience feels significantly more polished thanks to OriginOS 6. It’s a major step up from Funtouch OS; animations are smoother, and the interface feels much cleaner.
We especially liked the "Flip Cards" wallpaper feature, which adds a subtle live effect to the home screen, alongside deeper personalization options that make the UI feel uniquely yours.
When it comes to battery, it still has the 6,500mAh BlueVolt battery, supported by 90W FlashCharge. We lived with this device on a weekend road trip, and on a single 100% charge, it lasted us nearly two full days of navigation and photo snapping. According to vivo, the battery is capable of 40 hours of video playback or 11 hours of PUBG gameplay.
Regarding battery and performance, the V70 is a solid, consistent performer that handles daily tasks without giving you much to complain about.
vivo V70: final thoughts

To wrap things up, the vivo V70 doesn't try to reinvent the wheel; instead, it polishes the spokes of what made its predecessors successful.
It remains a portrait powerhouse at heart, but the addition of an improved build, a more sophisticated design language, and AI smarts makes it a far more versatile companion than before.
While the processor stays consistent with the previous generation, the jump to OriginOS 6 and the inclusion of smarter AI tools provide a level of refinement that keeps it highly competitive.
If you're looking for a device that looks expensive, lasts through a heavy weekend and takes photos that punch well above its price tag, the V70 is a strong contender that delivers exactly where it counts.
The vivo V70 is now available at all vivo concept stores, kiosks, and authorized retailers nationwide, starting at P31,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model, while the 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB variants are priced at P35,999 and P39,999, respectively.
