MANILA, Philippines — The Government Service Insurance System yesterday rolled out a loan facility, which aims to help GSIS members reduce daily transportation costs and fuel expenses.
The GSIS launched GBEL or the “Ginhawa Bike and E-Mobility Loan” in line with President Marcos’ whole-of-government approach to make daily life better for Filipinos.
The program is also part of the Unified Package for Livelihood, Industry, Food and Transport or UPLIFT.
Under the GBEL, qualified GSIS members may borrow up to 100 percent of the cost of an e-bike, or a maximum of P300,000, payable over 36 months.
The loan carries an interest rate of five percent per annum, with no service fee to be charged upon granting.
GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso said the program is designed to provide immediate support to members.
“This program will give our members a practical option to manage their daily transportation expenses,” Veloso said.
Applications are processed online through the GSIS Touch mobile app.
GBEL covers brand new bicycles and electric mobility devices, such as e-bikes, e-scooters, e-mopeds, cargo e-bikes, folding e-bikes and other similar electric-powered transport units.
Earlier, the GSIS introduced the Ginhawa Solar Energy Loan to help members reduce household electricity expenses.
