Groups slam Marcos’ Sona push for waste-to-energy tech, cite toxic risks

MANILA, Philippines – Environmental groups BAN Toxics and EcoWaste Coalition reject President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s proposal to adopt waste-to-energy (WTE) technologies during his fifth State of the Nation Address (Sona), citing toxic risks. In a statement on Wednesday, BAN Toxics Deputy Executive Director Jam Lorenzo opposed plans to amend the 25-year-old Ecological Solid Waste
