THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) First Division has issued summonses against incumbent Aklan Gov. Joen Miraflores, congressional candidate Florencio Miraflores, provincial administrator Selwyn Ibarreta and six others over allegations of campaign violations.
A statement with attached documents sent to The Manila Times indicates that summonses were sent on April 22, 2025.
Also summoned were Dexter Calizo, Jess Marquez, Lolong Dalisay, Larry Solidum, Jojo Cordova, and Jupiter Gallenero.
Comelec clerk of court lawyer Gene Gatdula issued the summonses following a complaint filed against the nine individuals before the poll body on April 11.
The complaint alleged that the group conducted a campaign rally with employees of the provincial government during official government hours or while on duty.
