Gordon Ramsay is expanding his signature restaurant to the Philippines!
During an exclusive event with Gordon at the Newport Performing Arts Theater on Monday, the culinary icon announced that he is eyeing to open three more outposts in the Philippines.
"We are looking at potentially three new restaurant sites here in the Philippines," he said.
"I'd be attending the group and looking at some really fun sites and stuff to come, maybe a beautiful Hell's Kitchen restaurant," he added.
In a rare opportunity to address his Filipino fans in person, Gordon Ramsay expressed his profound admiration for Filipino and Asian cuisine.
He not only praised the flavors but also the cultural significance of upholding traditional Asian cuisine.
"Heritage is incredible," he said, emphasizing that "it's our responsibility to continue the evolution."
"And so, we take the basic recipes from all generations and evolve them; we don't disparage them," he added.
Gordon highlighted the importance of respecting a dish's original ingredients and recipe.
"Adobo, Sisig, whatever that is, we will respect the DNA," he said.
"It's every chef's responsibility to push the boundaries out there," he added.
Gordon also lauded the freshness of ingredients produced in the Philippines.
"Filipino cuisine, for me, is like the sleeping beauty of Asia," he said.
"The culture and the composite of Filipino cuisine, it's so original, which is so lovely," he added.
At Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill in Newport World Resorts, Gordon said his Manila team wouldn't pull off its menu if not for the ingredients found in the country.
For the Fish & Chips, Gordon said the restaurant uses Lapu-Lapu.
"We now create this unique Filipino dish I couldn't do without the ingredients in Manila," he said.
During the event, Gordon held a mini "Masterchef"-like competition where celebrity chef Judy Ann Santos, food influencer Ninong Ry, culinary student Danica Lucero, and Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill PH Head Chef Bea Therese Qua presented their unique take on Halo-Halo
Gordon also collaborated on a video with "Lumpia Queen" Abi Marquez for a lumpia version of Beef Wellington.
Gordon is the chef behind several Michelin-starred restaurants, including Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in the UK and Le Pressoir d'Argent in Bordeaux. He's opened restaurants worldwide, including Singapore, UAE, and Japan.
