Abi Marquez took on the challenge of making a Beef Wellington lumpia, and the end result is Gordon Ramsay-approved!

On her social media pages, the Lumpia Queen shared her take on Ramsay’s signature dish—but in a lumpia wrapper, of course. After sharing the recipe, Abi went to Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill, where one of the chefs helped her fry the lumpia.

“Good luck to me,” Abi said before serving her Beef Wellington lumpia to Chef Ramsay.

When the celebrity chef greeted Abi by her name, she could not hide her shock. “You know me?”

“Do I know you? The whole internet knows you,” Chef Ramsay said.

Gordon said that Abi's lumpia, "visually, looks good.”

As Gordon and Abi took a bite, the Filipino content creator was clearly nervous.

“Listen, I’m really sorry, I don’t like it,” Gordon said. “I fucking love it!”

Abi jumped for joy and they shared a hug.

“That is a very, very posh spring roll. I love it,” the top chef added.

“May I have some more, please? I’m taking this away so no one can steal it,” he added, then requested for a glass of wine with his Beef Wellington lumpia.

Gordon continued to gush over the dish on Instagram.

“Still thinking about it! Well done, Abi,” Gordon commented on Abi’s Reel.

“Loved it!” he added on his Instagram Story.

Chef Ramsay visited Manila this January.

At an exclusive event, the food legend held a “Masterchef”-like cooking challenge where celebrity chef Judy Ann Santos, food influencer Ninong Ry, culinary student Danica Lucero, and Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill PH Head Chef Bea Therese Qua presented their unique takes on the Philippines' iconic dessert, Halo-Halo.

Aside from Abi, Gordon collaborated with Niana Guerrero and Ranz Kyle for a dance video.

Gordon's first restaurant in the country, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill, opened in 2024 at the Newport World Resorts' Grand Wing.

Gordon Ramsay is the chef behind several Michelin-starred restaurants, including Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in the UK and Le Pressoir d'Argent in Bordeaux. He's opened restaurants worldwide, including in Singapore, UAE, and Japan.
