BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines — At least 200 couples who have had 50 years of married life received P50,000 each from the provincial government, an incentive given under Nueva Vizcaya’s “enduring devotion” program.
Gov. Jose Gambito said the incentive is more than just a financial assistance, but a recognition of enduring commitment and strong family values.
Gambito expressed hope that the awardees would inspire younger couples to build lasting marriages and stable families.
The 200 couples are part of the 14th and 15th batches recognized under the Enduring Devotion Ordinance, authored by former provincial board member Patricio Dumlao Jr. to honor couples who have sustained their marriages for five decades or longer.
Couple Rodrigo and Soledad Flores of Barangay La Torre Norte in Bayombong were recognized as the longest-married couple, having been together for 76 years.
Since the program began in 2024, the provincial government has released P44.05 million to 881 couples.
