MANILA, Philippines — A 10th anniversary special for the popular K-drama "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" — popularly known as "Goblin" — is in the works with the main cast coming back together.

"Goblin" starred Gong Yoo as the titular immortal character who aids others with his powers until fate puts him on the same path as young student Ji Eun-tak, played by Kim Go-eun.

The show was well-received both in Korea and internationally. It received six nominations at the 2017 Baeksang Arts Awards, winning the Daesang for writer Kim Eun-sook and Best Actor for Gong Yoo.

According to reports by Korean outlets Soompi and The Chosun Daily, Gong Yoo and Go-eun will be joined by Lee Dong-wook, Yoo In-na and other co-stars in a special program planned by local network tvN.

The cast will reportedly go on a trip reminiscing iconic scenes, line exchanges, and other memorable moments from the popular series.

"The smiles and emotions of that time, as well as the unchanging chemistry of the actors even after 10 years and the echoes left behind by the project will greet viewers once more," a source told Soompi.

This planned program is not unlike the 10th anniversary special of another tvN project "Reply 1988" which reunited stars Hyeri, Park Bo-gum, Go Kung-pyo, Lee Dong-hwi, director Shin Won-ho, writer Lee Woo-jung and more across three episodes.

The 10th anniversary special of "Goblin" will reportedly come out before the second half of 2026.
