SEN. Bong Go dispatched his Malasakit Team to support displaced and disadvantaged workers from various towns in Bohol, specifically in Mabini, Loay, Candijay, Guindulman, Duero, Garcia Hernandez, and Valencia.
The activity, which took place on Tuesday, was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and local government officials.
Through DOLE's Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (Tupad) program, temporary employment opportunities were offered to qualified workers.
Go also provided 854 beneficiaries with essential goods such as vitamins and shirts. Select recipients also received shoes, basketballs, and volleyballs.
As a legislator, Go filed Senate Bill (SB) 420, a proposed bill to establish the Rural Employment Assistance Program (REAP), which would provide temporary jobs to qualified individuals from low-income rural families who are prepared to engage in unskilled manual labor for a certain duration.

To further ease the financial burden on Filipino families, the senator also co-authored and co-sponsored SB 2534, which aims to raise the daily minimum wage by P100 nationwide.
In support of the local economy, Go co-sponsored and is one of the authors in the Senate of Republic Act (RA) 11960, known as the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Philippines Act.
The OTOP program promotes national pride in Filipino-made products while providing small-scale producers opportunities to expand their market reach. By focusing on local specialties, the program aims to elevate the livelihoods of communities and contribute to the nation's overall economic progress.
"I will continue to serve you to the best of my ability, and we will strive to leave no one behind in our development because it is my habit to serve. I believe that service to people is service to God," he said.
