SEN. Bong Go extended additional support to over a thousand impoverished members of Tricycle Operators and Drivers' Associations (TODA) in Candaba, Pampanga, on Thurs-day.
This initiative, held at the Candaba Municipal Covered Court, underscores the senator's unwavering commitment to uplifting vulnerable sectors.
"Many people have been thanking me for my assistance with our programs. However, I should be the one thanking you for the opportunity to serve you," Go said in Filipino while addressing the beneficiaries.
"I can only offer you my hard work, as serving is a habit of mine," he added, reiterating his commitment to public service.
One thousand six hundred seventy-three beneficiaries directly received essential items from the senator, including snacks, shirts, fans, basketballs and volleyballs. Select re-cipients also received special items such as shoes, a bicycle, a mobile phone and a watch.

Additionally, through the collaborative efforts of Go and the local government of Candaba led by Mayor Rene Maglanque, each qualified beneficiary received financial support to address their immediate needs.
The gathering was also conducted with the support of other officials, such as Pampanga Gov. Dennis Pineda, Board Member Kaye Naguit, Apalit Mayor Jun Tentangco, Candaba councilors Thelma Macapagal, Jai Bondoc, Quinnie Cu-lala and Rami Maglanque, and former councilor Donya Salac.
As chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, Go took the opportunity to encourage those with health concerns to avail of medical assistance from nearby Malasakit Centers.
These centers, located at the Jose Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital and Overseas Filipino Workers Hospital in San Fernando City, Jose B. Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center in Angeles City and Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital in Guagua, provide aid to cover medical expenses, especially for indigent patients.
The Malasakit Centers Act was authored and sponsored principally by Senator Go in 2019. To date, it has benefited over 15 million Filipinos and 166 Malasakit Centers are operational nationwide.
