MANILA, Philippines — Mav Gonzales' would-be firstborn has seen action through his/her mother's eyes, with the reporter covering the anti-corruption rallies and typhoons during her first trimester.
The GMA News reporter shared on Instagram that she and her husband, Matthew Valena, are expecting their first baby amid her polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) diagnosis.
Mav was told that she might have trouble conceiving due to her condition but she and her husband were blessed with a good news.
"A month before our wedding, I was diagnosed with PCOS and told I’ll probably have issues conceiving because of my age too. Well, a one-week honeymoon beat the odds," she said.
"Mini us coming soon. Do you think it’s a boy or a girl?" Mav asked her followers.
In another post, the reporter documented her first trimester, which includes coverage of Blue Ribbon hearings, Typhoon Uwan and EDSA rallies.
"An entire trimester of you. Covering the EDSA rallies, Blue Ribbon hearings and Super Typhoon Uwan in my first trimester has convinced me that pregnant women have super powers," she wrote.
The four months of the year saw two anti-corruption rallies last September 21 and November 30 and a succession of typhoons passing through the country.
"Ladies who have been in LDRs (long-distance relationships) during pregnancy, I salute you. It was one of the HARDEST things I’ve ever done and that’s a statement coming from a field reporter," she ended her post.
