GMA Integrated News’ digital campaign #DapatTotoo has been receiving positive feedback online, with netizens praising it for its relatability.
Led by GMAIN’s Social Media Team, the campaign’s Digital Exclusives or short videos feature some of GMA Network’s top journalists like Atom Araullo, Mariz Umali, Raffy Tima, and Mav Gonzales. The videos make use of trending words, while imparting strong and educational messages.
In time for Valentine’s season, the journalists discussed Gen Z relationship terms like “backburner,” “DTR (define the relationship),” “breadcrumbing,” and “love bombing.” However, they shared how these also apply to the upcoming midterm elections in May, such as how Filipinos should vote wisely for those who will prioritize them and their needs.
As of this writing, the mini public service announcements have garnered 3.4 million views across popular social media platforms.
GMAIN-SMT also received praise for the campaign’s creative execution, relatable and educational scripts, the use of analogies, and the delivery of the messages.
Kapuso actor Mikoy Morales commented, “Ang galing.”
A netizen said, “Love this! GMA will start on a meme and or something relatable to the society, then proceeds to inform/uncover the tactics of some politicians.”
“Good job on how the message was delivered. Very relatable ang mga social media terms kaya kuha n’yo attention ng mga audience agad. Hindi basta sinabing ‘vote wisely.’ Game changer!” another netizen said.
“Dapat Totoo” emphasizes the fight against misinformation and disinformation to help guide voters for the 2025 midterm elections.
In May 2024, the first leg of the “GMA Masterclass: Road to the 2025 Elections” brought together GMA’s multimedia journalists for a discourse on the upcoming elections and the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on politics. It also featured an on-site demonstration of the MIRU counting machines.
This 2025, GMA Regional TV and Synergy kicked off the GMA Masterclass: Eleksyon 2025 Dapat Totoo Series, which aims to engage the youth across the Philippines in the fight against misinformation and disinformation. The first leg of the series was held last January 22 to 25 in Mindanao, while the second leg is scheduled for February 17 to 20 in the Visayas.
This February, GMA Integrated News geared up for its multi-platform coverage through GMA Masterclass: Road to the 2025 Elections.
The Philippine midterm elections will be on May 12.
