MANILA, Philippines — The enterprise arm of network provider Globe Telecom Inc. has signed a partnership with one of the biggest pizza brands in the Philippines to improve its order pick-up system.
Globe Business said it has been tapped by Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc. (SPAVI) to upgrade its mechanism for receiving and processing orders from customers.
The partnership aims to raise SPAVI’s operational efficiency by minimizing errors and speeding up service delivery in stores.
In particular, Globe Business will provide SPAVI with cloud-based solutions that can address its pain points in customer service. As a whole, the solutions offer point-of-sale systems, centralized data-sharing and real-time monitoring to reduce reliance on manual procedures.
SPAVI expects the solutions from Globe Business to improve forecasting and digitize processes, enabling it to centralize customer data for later analysis. Likewise, the solutions are seen scaling up SPAVI’s inventory management and order accuracy to the benefit of customers.
Globe Business head KD Dizon said the solutions acquired by SPAVI would allow it to compete in the tightening industry of food and beverage (F&B) brands.
“We understand the complexities of scaling a dynamic business like theirs and we are committed to being a true partner, proactively identifying opportunities and delivering solutions to empower SPAVI not only to meet, but exceed customers’ evolving expectations,” Dizon said.
Without any upgrade, Dizon warned that F&B players fall into the trap of depending on manual interventions, resulting in restaurant inefficiencies that dismay customers.
SPAVI president and CEO Vicente Gregorio said the tie-up comes at a time when the company is expanding its portfolio. He noted that beyond solutions, SPAVI is looking for partners like Globe Business that opens up opportunities for it.
SPAVI is one of the largest F&B players in the Philippines, with its portfolio including market leaders Shakey’s and Potato Corner. Recently, SPAVI has widened its F&B dominance by adding Peri-Peri, R&B Milk Tea and Project Pie.
SPAVI also owns Bakemasters Inc., which supplies Shakey’s products to clients in the airline and restaurant industries.
As of 2024, SPAVI manages over 2,600 stores and outlets, and is keen on strengthening domestic and international presence to support its growth.
