Global Pinoy Personalities shine at the Oscars!

March 07, 2025

It’s a proud moment for the Philippines at the 97th Academy Awards, where some of the most beloved Filipino-Americans graced the stage, held on March 2 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

First up, High School Musical stars Vanessa Hudgens and Olivia Rodrigo reunited at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party at the Annenberg Center. Vanessa, known for her role as Gabriella in the original series, and Olivia, who starred as Nini in its spinoff, shared a special moment together.

Filipino-American singer and songwriter H.E.R alsomade her mark on the red carpet in a black, sophisticated long dress, veering away from her usual oversized outfits. In 2021, H.E.R. bagged the Best Original Song award for “Fight for You.”

Bretman

It’s the baddest glambot ever as Bretman Rock slayed his first-ever glambot moment. He proudly shared his final glambot pose on Instagram with the caption, “Let's get down to business fantasy."

Filipino-American wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista also had his Oscars moment. Dave was among those who presented the Oscar for Best in Cinematography.

Lastly, The Oscars  paid tribute to the late multi-awarded actress Jaclyn Jose in its “Oscars in Memoriam.” The tribute honored “friends and colleagues we lost over the last year.”

The veteran actress passed away last year. In 2016, she was awarded Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her outstanding performance in the Brillante Mendoza film Ma’ Rosa.
