MANILA, Philippines — JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith will topbill a film project for the first time as their love team tandem in "Almost Us" directed by Dan Villegas.

Regal Entertainment announced the movie, which it is co-producing with Project 8 Projects, after JM and Fyang were both in the ensemble cast of the studio's Metro Manila Film Festival Entry "Shake, Rattle & Roll Evil Origins."

Project 8 Projects had teased the project last month with a photo of Fyang and JM with Dan, introducing a project with the working title "IRL (In Real Life)."

More cast announcements will be shared in the coming weeks though "Almost Us" is currently slated for a May 6 release.

The two young Kapamilya stars rose to fame on "Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11" in 2024 which Fyang won.

Both had small roles in "My Love Will Make You Disappear" before headlining the series "Ghosting," their first project as the JMFyang love team.

JM also starred in the Cinemalaya 2025 entry "Child No. 82: Anak ni Boy Kana" while Fyang lent her voice to the Filipino dub of Korean film "Picnic."

Dan is best known for directing the movies "Exes Baggage," "Hintayan ng Langit," "English Only, Please" and "Uninvited."

The director is also an acclaimed cinematographer, having shot "She's Dating the Gangster," "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?," "Kono Basho," "Crazy Beautiful You" and most recently "Meet, Greet & Bye."
