Fujifilm Philippines has officially rolled out the Instax WIDE Evo, a hybrid instant camera that merges digital convenience with wide-format analog charm. Priced at ₱22,599 (around $400), the Instax WIDE Evo is now available through Fujifilm authorized dealers nationwide—and it’s already making a creative splash in the local photography scene.

This new model is the larger sibling to the popular Instax mini Evo, bringing the same “shoot, preview, and print” hybrid experience to the Instax WIDE format, which offers broader, more cinematic prints. For those who loved the mini Evo’s approach but longed for a bigger canvas to express themselves, the WIDE Evo may be exactly what they’ve been waiting for.

To celebrate its debut in the country, Fujifilm hosted a two-day launch event called 10:10 – Wider Stories to Tell at Glorietta Activity Center in Makati last April 26–27. Visitors got hands-on time with the camera, attended creative workshops, and enjoyed exhibits by renowned Filipino photographers including Jilson Tiu, Geloy Concepcion, Aya Cabauatan, and Issa Barte. The event emphasized the camera’s artistic potential—true to its promise of giving storytellers a “wider” platform to create.

So what sets the Instax WIDE Evo apart from your average instant camera? It’s all about hybrid functionality and creative freedom. Users can frame their shots using the 3.5-inch LCD screen, apply various lens and film effects in real-time, and choose which photos to print—saving both film and effort. With 10 lens effects and 10 film styles (from Monochrome to Light Leak), users can create 100 basic combinations straight out of the box

But that’s just the beginning. A new Degree Control function—a first in the Instax line—allows precise, granular adjustment of color and brightness effects across 100 levels, letting users fine-tune their shots to an exceptional degree. Combine that with film style borders, wide-angle mode, and in-camera filters, and Fujifilm says users can experiment with over 100,000 unique looks.

Beyond photography, the WIDE Evo also doubles as a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone printer. Through the dedicated Instax WIDE Evo app, users can print any photo from their mobile gallery onto wide-format Instax film, and explore the global Discover Feed, where fellow creators share prints and effect combos. Like what you see? You can save and replicate that style directly from the app onto your camera.

Design-wise, the WIDE Evo stays faithful to the nostalgic charm of instant cameras while delivering modern functionality. It sports a premium black-and-metal finish, tactile physical dials for selecting effects, and a manual print crank that evokes the analog magic of developing film. It’s a looker—and a performer.

In a country where creativity thrives on accessibility and innovation, the Instax WIDE Evo may find a welcoming home among local storytellers, hobbyists, and hybrid shooters alike.
