MANILA, Philippines – Thousands of Filipinos are expected to march against corruption and call for good governance on Sunday, September 21, as public outrage over the flood control controversy continues.
The mobilizations coincide with the 53rd anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law.
In Manila, demonstrators will gather at Luneta Park beginning at 9 am to denounce corruption and impunity. Multiple groups are organizing rallies throughout the morning, with organizers anticipating a large turnout.
By afternoon, religious leaders and civil society organizations will lead the “Trillion Peso March” at the EDSA People Power Monument in Quezon City. The event, organized by Catholic and Protestant coalitions, will amplify calls for transparency, justice, and accountability.
Similar protests are planned in other cities and provinces across the country as the campaign against corruption gains national momentum. Organizers say the coordinated actions could mark one of the largest mobilizations in recent years.

One UPM, all roads lead to Luneta
Students from the University of the Philippines Manila and other schools along Taft Avenue in Manila will assemble at 7 am at the Oblation Plaza of the Philippine General Hospital before marching to Luneta.
#KontrakTOUR: Bike and mass protest against corruption
As early as 6 am, cyclists will gather at the Quezon City Hall for a bike ride against corruption.
The bike ride will be led by mobility and sustainability groups Advocates for Active Mobility, CycleSavers, YACAP, PARA-Commuters’ Network, Liwanag Kyusi, Lakas ng Kabataang Kyusi, Move As One Coalition, Pedal for Rivers, and Make It Safer Movement-MISMO.
All bike groups will merge at the Roundtable in Padre Burgos Street corner Maria Orosa Street before proceeding to Luneta.
Kabataan Partylist Bicol protests
Kabataan Partylist Bicol is holding three protest actions against corruption in the Bicol Region, mainly in Camarines Sur, Albay, and Catanduanes, on Sunday.
Protestors are invited to gather at Plaza Rizal in Naga City; Kalayaan Park in Legazpi City, Albay; and Imelda Boulevard, in Virac, Catanduanes.
Sectoral representatives from and supporters of local farmers, fisherfolk, students, and the rural poor call for solidarity in the region to speak out against corruption. For the full schedule and venue, refer to the post below.
Iloilo City mobilization against corruption
The Western Visayas Youth and Students Alliance calls on Iloilo City youth to join their multisectoral mobilization against corruption on Sunday at 2 pm. Participants will be marching from Jaro Cathedral to the Iloilo Provincial Capitol, and are encouraged to wear white.
For participants from the University of the Philippines Visayas’ Iloilo City campus, the meeting point will be at the UPV Infante Gate at 2 pm, while those from the Miagao campus will be meeting at the UPV College Union Building at 12 pm.
March from Fuente Osmeña to Colon, Cebu
Cebuanos are invited to join a march to Colon, Cebu City, to denounce corruption. Participants will assemble on Sunday at 8:30 am at Fuente Osmeña before proceeding to Colon.
Samar’s rise against nationwide theft
In Catbalogan City, Samar, youth group Waray Na will be holding a 3 pm Mass at the St. Bartholomew Parish before leading a solidarity walk for youth against corruption.
Rallies in Cagayan de Oro City
