Fishers say traders feeding on closed fishing season to drive up galunggong prices

MANILA, Philippines—An activist fishers’ group on Friday accused traders of driving up the price of galunggong (round scad) by exploiting the annual closed fishing season now in force in the Visayan Sea and other parts of the country. Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (PAMALAKAYA) said the ban, intended as a conservation measure, is creating conditions
