Firm of Mark Villar’s uncle secured P390M worth of flood control projects

Between 2023 and 2025, the firm also secured a total of 32 DPWH projects amounting to over P2.8 billion, according to a Rappler investigation

MANILA, Philippines – Motiontrade, the firm owned by Christian Aguilar, Senator Mark Villar’s uncle, bagged P390 million worth of flood control projects, a Rappler investigation has found.

Between 2023 and 2025, the firm also secured a total of 32 DPWH projects amounting to over P2.8 billion. Aguilar is the brother of former senator Cynthia Villar.

In response, Motiontrade, though assistant vice president Carlo Aguilar, told Rappler in a statement: “It is a staunch Company policy that it will never participate in any government project in the City of Las Piñas. All government projects in which the Company has been involved are all outside the City of Las Piñas — where none of my relatives have any power, authority, control or supervision to approve or participate in any way in such projects,”

Here’s Jairo Bolledo to talk more about his investigation. – Rappler.com
