Firefighters prepare to evacuate residents after a fire hit a condominium building in Quezon City yesterday.

MANILA, Philippines — Hundreds of residents of a condominium in Quezon City were evacuated yesterday following a fire.
The blaze broke out at the 30-story condominium building in Barangay Bagumbayan at 6:53 a.m.
The Bureau of Fire Protection said the incident was earlier reported as a rubbish fire, which arson probers said originated in the basement.
Security officers and responders evacuated the residents to safety as firefighters doused the fire, which was put out at past 10 a.m.
Probers have yet to determine what caused the fire.
There was no reported casualty.
