BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines — The Department of Agriculture (DA) has been urged to include vegetable farmers in the financial assistance program for people affected by rising fuel prices.
At a meeting of the North Luzon Growth Quadrangle in Congress on Wednesday, Nueva Vizcaya Rep. Tim Cayton said that aside from corn and rice farmers, vegetable farmers in the province are also reeling from the effects of rising fuel and farm input prices.
The DA has cited the contribution of local vegetable farmers through the Nueva Vizcaya Agricultural Terminal.
DA Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. responded positively to the call of Nueva Vizcaya vegetable farmers.
