Fernando tops survey for Luzon governors

CITY OF MALOLOS — Gov. Daniel Fernando of Bulacan emerged as one of the top performing governors in Luzon with an impressive 89 percent satisfaction rating, based on the results of Youth Satisfaction and Trust Ratings Survey organized by a nonprofit, nongovernment organization Institute for Global Education Exchange and Internship (IGEEI).

The survey was conducted from Nov. 15 to Dec. 15, 2024, through online, face-to-face and telephone interviews, was participated by 10,000 respondents ages 18 to 30 years old from different socioeconomic backgrounds across Luzon.

The survey highlighted the performance of the local chief executives according to their governance, programs and leadership.

Data showed that the 10 valuable things deemed critical for youth during the evaluation are transparency and accountability with 92 percent of respondents identifying it as "very important."

Disaster preparedness and recovery programs, meanwhile, were picked by 88 percent of the respondents while access to education, employment, and youth empowerment initiatives drew 84 percent.

Also mentioned as significant factors are environmental sustainability, inclusive governance and infrastructure development.

Tied with Fernando on top of the list are governors Susan Yap of Tarlac and Jose Enrique Garcia III of Bataan, who also gained a satisfaction rating of 89 percent.

The three are provincial leaders from Central Luzon.

The list also includes Matthew Manotoc of Ilocos Norte (85 percent), Dominic Valera of Abra (83 percent), Dakila Carlo Cua of Quirino (80 percent), Jeremias Singson of Ilocos Sur (80 percent), Raphaelle Ortega-David of La Union (76 percent), Angelina Tan of Quezon (72 percent), Nina Ricci Ynares of Rizal (70.5 percent), Manuel Mamba of Cagayan (68 percent), Luigi Villafuerte of Camarines Sur (68 percent), Elias Bulut Jr. of Apayao (66 percent), Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. of Zambales (66 percent) and Dennis Pineda of Pampanga (65 percent).

Fernando expressed his gratitude to his supporters and promised a continued public service anchored in diligence and loyalty.

This recognition and standard will serve as an inspiration to me to continue leading the province of Bulacan with diligence and loyalty)," he said.
