COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents arrested a 36-year-old woman after she sold P115,600 worth of shabu in General Santos City late Tuesday, February 10, exactly eight years after she was jailed for the same narcotics trafficking offense.

Local officials said the now-detained suspect operated in General Santos City and has accomplices in nearby towns in Sarangani, one of the four provinces in Region 12.

The suspect was immediately frisked and cuffed by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 12 and operatives from units of the Police Regional Office 12 after they procured from her 17 grams of shabu, costing P115,600, during a tradeoff in Carino Subdivision in Barangay Bula in General Santos City at almost midnight Tuesday.

Charlene Magdurulung, director of PDEA-12, said on Wednesday that the entrapment operation that led to the arrest of the suspect was laid with the help of her friends and relatives aware of her peddling of shabu in Barangay Bula and nearby barangays in General Santos City.

The suspect was jailed for a time eight years ago for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, filed against her after she was busted in a similar entrapment operation by anti-narcotics agents in General Santos City.

The suspect is now in the custody of PDEA 12, according to Magdurulang.
