Logistics giant Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) is launching its international, day-definite e-commerce service to the Philippines, offering Filipino businesses a new platform to connect with international markets.
In a statement on Friday, Jan. 31, the company said the FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP) aims to empower Philippine-based e-commerce merchants with reliable and cost-effective shipping to Europe and the United States (US).
Before launching in the country, the FCIP was already available in certain countries in the Asia-Pacific region, such as China, Hong Kong, and Japan.
With the FCIP, FedEx is anticipating further growth in cross-border e-commerce between the Philippines, Europe, and the US.
The service provides assurance to merchants that their shipments will be delivered in the US and Europe between two to three business days.
FedEx Philippines Managing Director Maribeth Espinosa said the FCIP can help expand the customer reach of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) abroad.
“This service reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative, cost-effective shipping solutions that help Philippine businesses grow and compete in international markets while delivering an enhanced experience to their customers,” said Espinosa.
Based on figures provided by FedEx, e-commerce sales in Asia are projected to reach $13.209 billion by 2030, growing at a rate of 17.6 percent beginning 2023.
Meanwhile, the Philippine e-commerce market is projected to hit P969 billion by 2026.
The company said the FICP allows businesses to “enjoy greater savings” with its competitive day-definite transits, while customers can expect “greater value” through dynamic pricing that matches specific delivery needs.
Aside from home delivery, the service provides customers the flexibility to pick up their package from different pick-up locations and the option to change delivery date and location.
FedEx said the online and offline shipping automation solutions are also available, alongside extensive parcel tracking capabilities.
With its customs clearance expertise and global air-and-ground network, the company assures speedy delivery of shipments, especially with the FCIP’s definite time and date.
FedEx is one of the largest express transportation companies, with presence in at least 220 countries and territories across the globe.
