MANILA, Philippines — The family of Gloria Romero clarified that the art card supposedly revealing the "last will" of the late veteran actress is fake news.

In a newscast report by MJ Marfori on "Frontline Pilipinas" Wednesday night, family members said the posts were "misleading, baseless and without evidence."

They also asked the public to allow Romero's family and loved ones to grieve privately.

The viral art card, posted and shared on social media, claimed that Romero had left almost P700 million cash and a mansion valued at more than P19 million. It also claimed that 40 percent of the total cash will be donated to build a school in Pangasinan, 30 percent to three charitable institutions, and 15 percent each to two individuals from Romero's family.

While many praised Romero for her supposedly generosity, other users questioned the legitimacy of the claim.
