Salang-oy's remains were transported by a Black Hawk helicopter, which landed at the 503rd Infantry Brigade before being carried to the provincial capitol for the ceremonial rites.

A necrological service was held in his honor, where the provincial government officially cited Board Resolution 2025-074 commending him for his utmost dedication, exceptional bravery and invaluable service to the country.

Gov. James Edduba, in his speech, acknowledged Salang-oy's sacrifice for the people and the country.

"Through his service, he showed dedication in protecting the country and keeping the peace with a strong sense of duty and sacrifice," said Edduba.

"His bravery and dedication in the armed forces remind us that we, Kalingas, are steadfast in fulfilling our responsibilities. Let us celebrate his legacy and let his story inspire us in whatever capacity we serve," added Edduba.

Following the ceremony, Salang-oy's remains were to be transported to his residence in Purok 1, Bulanao, Tabuk City, for the wake and will be laid to rest in a private cemetery.

Major Salang-oy, along with Lt. April John Dadulla, perished when their FA-50 fighter jet crashed into the mountain ranges of Bukidnon on March 4.

Both pilots were awarded the Distinguished Aviation Cross, the highest aviation honor in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
