Facebook Live videos will automatically get deleted after 30 days

3 weeks ago 11

Facebook has just unveiled a significant change for its Live video feature. As of February 19, 2025, all Facebook Live videos will automatically expire after 30 days. This new policy means that users’ live streams will be deleted from the platform a month after broadcasting unless action is taken.

However, Facebook is providing several options to help users preserve their content. Users can download their videos individually or in bulk, or transfer them directly to cloud storage services such as Google Drive or Dropbox. For those who want to maintain a presence on their profile, there’s also an option to convert live videos into Reels.

Knowing that some users might need more time to manage their live video archives, Facebook is offering a 6-month extension option. This gives users additional flexibility to sort through and save their content.

This update is Facebook’s way of addressing the trend showing that the majority of live video views occur within the first few weeks after broadcasting. The change requires users to be more proactive in managing their live video content, ensuring they save what’s important before it’s automatically removed from the platform.
