Just before Valentine's Day, romance took center stage as the much-anticipated 2025 romantic comedy "Everything About My Wife" held its official launch.

Directed by Real Florido, the film marks a powerhouse collaboration between award-winning production companies CreaZion Studios and GMA Pictures.

The event was attended by the film's lead stars: romantic comedy favorite Jennylyn Mercado, MMFF50 Best Actor Dennis Trillo, and singer-actor Sam Milby. Other cast members, including Carmi Martin, Polo Laurel, Alex Agustin, Joyang, Chico Alicaya, and Karlo Aranza, were also present.

During the press conference, award-winning director Florido explained why stories like this resonate with audiences: "We Filipinos are suckers for love. We love feeling giddy, heartbroken, and moved by the characters we see on screen. Love is always part of our conversations. It makes us feel alive. That's why these stories matter."

As a real-life married couple, Mercado and Trillo reflected on how their relationship influenced their performances. "Being married in real life helped us bring authenticity to our roles — we know the dynamics, the way couples argue, find joy and face struggles," Trillo shared. Mercado added, "Many scenes felt familiar to us, but what mattered was how much we enjoyed bringing them to life."

Meanwhile, Milby spoke about stepping into his role. "Like Direk Florido said, I tend to shine in roles with a bit of an edge — those morally gray characters. But Miguel is different. He's a casanova, a womanizer, which was a challenge for me. I'm grateful Florido was there to guide me as I stepped out of my comfort zone."

"Everything About My Wife" hits Philippine cinemas on Feb. 26.
