MANILA, Philippines — “Ayo, Bulacan scream!”

And scream with passion they did — the Filipino fans, also known as Filo ENGENEs, whose unwavering energy captivated the boys of K-pop powerhouse ENHYPEN throughout their “Walk The Line World Tour” in Bulacan on Saturday, March 1.

ENHYPEN, composed of Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-ki, took center stage at the Philippine Sports Stadium for their third major concert in the Philippines — a place they said they would always remember.

As if welcoming the septet and Filo ENGENEs, breathtaking orange hues painted the sky over the outdoor venue. The excitement was palpable, with loud fan chants and sing-alongs to the music videos playing, as fans eagerly awaited the boys’ arrival on stage.

The group’s funky Brought The Heat Back set the mood for the three-hour affair, with fireworks lighting up the sky and pyrotechnic effects on stage as the boys, clad in sleek black outfits, brought their best energy from the get-go.

ENHYPEN continued to heat up the stage with their viral hit Fever before finally greeting their Filipino fans, sending the crowd into even louder shrieks each time they spoke in Filipino in their opening “ment” (K-pop term for speaking segments).

“Grabe, ang galing talaga!” leader Jungwon quipped as he and the members marveled at the sea of orange lights, watching fans wave their ENGENE bongs upon his request.

Filo ENGENEs also didn’t disappoint when Heeseung tested the crowd’s vocal skills, singing “yeah” with his clear vocal run.

“Woah, Philippines! You guys are the best!” Heeseung exclaimed, as the other members nodded their heads and raised their thumbs in approval, declaring Filo ENGENEs the “best singers.”

Taking things up a notch, Jay led the crowd in a manifesto-like declaration of ENHYPEN and their fans’ inseparable bond and love for each other before hyping them up with a “Make some noise!” — setting the stage for a revamped performance of ParadoXXX Invasion.

Jungwon then took full command of the stage, standing behind a wooden podium surrounded by multiple microphones, powerfully delivering the intro of the anthemic rock track Future Perfect (Pass The Mic).

The heat doubled when Jay, Jake and Sunghoon’s Lucifer performance, along with Heeseung, Ni-ki, Jungwon and Sunoo’s intense Teeth number, drove the crowd crazy.

The atmosphere reached “peak excitement” after ENHYPEN rode carts to get closer to the audience and playfully sprayed water guns at the audience and each other, while fans eagerly soaked in their visuals up close.

ENHYPEN cooled things down when they performed ballad tracks such as Highway 1009, Not For Sale, Your Eyes Only and Orange Flower, Hundred Broken Hearts and Moonstruck, taking time to interact with fans along the way.

The nearly 30-song repertoire also included Given-Taken, Bite Me, Fatal Trouble, Scream, Tamed-Dashed and Sweet Venom.

Other highlights included Jay and Heeseung’s intro with their guitar and piano skills showcased in Blessed-Cursed and XO (Only If You Say Yes), respectively.

ENHYPEN also brought lighthearted fun to the show as the crowd chanted the members’ names in unison during the fan-favorites Go Big or Go Home and their cute responses to lines from XO (Only If You Say Yes).

The flashing lights, pyro effects, immersive stage production and colorful confetti bursting into the air added magic to the show, leaving the audience in awe after each of the boys’ sharp choreography and live vocals.

While waiting for the boys to return for the encore, fans’ messages of pride and love flashed on screen, including congratulations on their first Daesang (grand prize) for Romance: Untold.

But the moment took a heartfelt turn when the boys suddenly appeared on screen to reciprocate their fans’ unwavering support.

ENHYPEN’s love for their Filipino fans was on full display during the encore, as the members held up banners with a message dedicated solely to their Pinoy ENGENEs.

“ENGENEs, remember what we told you? This is the Philippines I’ll remember,” read two of the banners shown on camera.

The words referenced Jay’s remark during their previous “Fate Tour” at New Clark City Stadium in Tarlac in 2024.

“I’ll remember this show, I’ll remember you,” Jay declared once again, before the group launched into their encore stage.

Jake, likewise, delivered a message of reassurance to fans, leaving a comforting reminder that challenges and struggles are an inevitable part of life’s journey.

“I want you guys to always feel happy. In life, I feel like there’s a lot of ups and downs but I assure you that it’s part of life. I want you guys to always be happy,” said Jake.

“We, the seven of us, are gonna be here for you, always. Thank you. Mahal kita,” he added.

As the show approached its end, the members assured fans of their next visit, expressing their gratitude for the overwhelming love and energy from Filo ENGENEs. They reminisced about past concerts in the Philippines, stressing how special each visit felt.

“Siguradong babalik kami,” said Heeseung through an interpreter.

“Mahal kita so much,” he added.

“Magkita-kita tayo ulit… See you guys again, Filipino ENGENEs,” said Sunghoon and Ni-ki.

Sunoo, meanwhile, extended a “pinky promise” to Filo ENGENEs to have the same energy on their return to the country.

The group also thrilled fans with upcoming activities to look forward to, including their Coachella performance in April and a comeback album.

The boys performed their megahit Polaroid Love, Karma, Paranormal for the encore, turning the stage into their playground as they went across the stadium once again on carts.

A final, intense fan chant in Go Big or Go Home erupted before fireworks once again exploded in the sky to cap off ENGENEs’ another night to remember.
