MANILA, Philippines — Former actress-model Ellen Adarna shut down claims that her estranged husband Derek Ramsay willingly provides financial support to raise their infant daughter Liana.

Ellen took to Instagram stories to call out "foolishness" by showbiz journalist Cristy Fermin, calling the latter's claims on her online show "misleading and unfair" before airing her side.

The ex-actress shared that she told Derek's assistant earlier this year that if he did give financial support or "sustento" for Liana, he would not have time with her.

"I am not demanding anything beyond what is fair — but I will not allow a father to live comfortably just cooling his balls while having little to no contribution to his child — because he gets to see her almost every day," Ellen said.

After calling him out, Ellen said that Derek gave a credit card earlier this month with a P50,000 credit limit which according to her only covers just over half of the expenses for Liana.

Ellen also clarified that Derek or his mother never paid her own household staff ever since they got married in 2021. That includes five nannies, two of which are for their daughter.

According to Ellen, Derek and his mother only paid for one of Liana's nannies while Ellen paid for her groceries and house.

"Let's not rewrite history... let's stop being delusional and stop branding someone as a 'good provider' when the numbers and reality say otherwise," Ellen ended. "A real provider doesn't wait to be called out. He gives willingly. He takes initiative. He doesn't rely on words, flexing, or public image."

Q&A

Ellen continued her tirade by answering questions from fans sent in via Instagrams stories, many of them revolving around Derek and Ellen's other former partner John Lloyd Cruz.

The former actress claimed only Derek's fans still believe in his narrative, which for her is a result of being "delulu" or delusional.

One follower asked if Ellen considered forgiving Derek in order to save their family, however Ellen replied forgiveness was only for people who "deserve and ask for it, and really change," even quipping she wasn't a Mother Teresa figure.

She even said that Derek is close with Manay Cristy who is "doing the dirty work for him," a "bitchy, pathetic move" that Ellen does not appreciate.

On the topic of financial support, Ellen shared that Derek had not provided his share for four months before she called him about it.

Liana did spend the Christmas holidays with Derek, but it was Ellen's family that "knocked sense into her head" about financial support coming from both parents.

Ellen then explained that she only got P20,000 montly from John Lloyd when their son Elias was younger after the actor insisted on doubling his share while everything else was already covered.

She praised John Lloyd for not having to be reminded about his share, calling him "considerate and generous" after he learned that Ellen moved out, but asked the public not to make any issue involving him as the two are better off co-parenting Elias.
