MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines remains on track to hitting its goal to export $110 billion worth of electronic products by 2030, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Trade Secretary Cristina Roque told reporters on the sidelines of the Kapihan sa Manila Bay that the government is sticking to its $110 billion annual electronics exports goal by 2030 despite challenges posed by the Middle East conflict.

The export goal is part of the Philippine Semiconductor and Electronics Industry (PSEI) Roadmap.

Under the roadmap, the country aims to export semiconductors worth $70 billion and ship electronics amounting to $40 billion by 2030.

The roadmap is also supported by a five-year workforce plan to train and upskill 128,000 semiconductor professionals to meet the industry’s evolving technical demands.

To hit the goal, the roadmap identifies strategic interventions across the value chain from advanced packaging and integrated circuit design to the long-term objective of establishing front-end manufacturing.

In particular, the roadmap calls for the creation of up to three national laboratories, which would each have a distinct area of specialization.

The roadmap also calls for a dedicated fabrication capability, a research and development roadmap and a talent development framework.

“Semiconductors are our number one export and we want to keep growing that. The PSEI Roadmap tells us exactly what we need to do – and who needs to do it,” Roque said.

“We built this with the industry and we are committed to delivering on it, because the more this sector grows, the more jobs it creates for our people,” she added.

Earlier, Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation Inc. president Dan Lachica said that the country’s electronics exports are projected to hit an all-time high and post five percent growth this year.

Last year, the country’s electronics exports reached $49.64 billion, 16 percent higher than the $42.75 billion in 2024.
