MANILA, Philippines — Key government officials and industry leaders will convene at the Economic Journalists Association of the Philippines’ (EJAP) third energy forum to tackle the country’s long-term policy direction amid the ongoing global oil crisis.

The forum to be held at Frabelle Corporate Plaza in Makati on May 26 carries the theme “Beyond the Crisis: Defining a New Era of Philippine Energy” and aims to spark dialogue on what lies ahead for the country amid uncertainties.

Energy Secretary Sharon Garin will outline the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen energy security and advance policies that support the growth of indigenous energy sources.

Energy Regulatory Commission chairperson and CEO Francis Saturnino Juan will highlight key reforms and market innovations aimed at expanding consumer choice and improving efficiency in the electric power sector.

Prime CoreGen president and CEO Jose Victor Emmanuel de Dios, MGEN Renewables president and CEO Dennis Jordan and DivinaLaw senior partner Jose Layug Jr. will join the panel discussion, together with Energy Undersecretary Felix William Fuentebella and ERC director for market operations service Sharon Montañer.

“The crisis exposed real vulnerabilities in the country’s energy sector – vulnerabilities we can no longer afford to ignore,” EJAP president John Ted Cordero said. “This forum brings together the voices that matter most in shaping what comes next. The path forward will not be easy, but the direction is clear: a more secure, more resilient, and more inclusive energy future for all Filipinos.”

Prime Infrastructure Capital Inc., Aboitiz Power Corp., Meralco PowerGen Corp. and DivinaLaw are this year’s gold sponsors.

The forum is supported by Petron Corp. as a silver sponsor, while PetroEnergy Resources Corp., PetroGreen Energy Corp., Manila Electric Co., Citicore Renewable Energy Corp., BDO Unibank Inc., Semirara Mining and Power Corp., First Gen Corp., Vena Energy and the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines are the bronze sponsors.
