MANILA, Philippines — Veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez shut down false rumors that he had already passed away.

Eddie himself addressed the rumors in a video uploaded on his daughter and fellow actor Ruffa Gutierrez's Facebook.

Acknowledging that "fake news" was rampant these days, the actor outright said he was "still alive and kicking" and still reaping blessings with more years after successful treatments in Singapore the past weeks.

The actor reminded the public he would be turning 84 years old on February 6, crediting his longevity to his wife, Annabelle Rama, who was seated in a lounge chair beside him.

Eddie also thanked Ruffa and her siblings Richard, Raymond, Elvis, Rocky, Ritchie Paul, Ramon or "Monching," and Tonton, as well as his grandchildren, for bringing him joy.

"'Wag kayong maniniwala, buhay na buhay ako," Eddie ended, extending gratitude to longtime fans and those who offered prayers.

Ruffa, meanwhile, wrote in her caption, "We celebrate a life filled with love, strength, and grace. Cheers to good health, happiness, and many more beautiful moments ahead. We love you always."
