The Marcos administration’s economic managers are set to discuss how the government plans to sustain economic growth amid turbulent global conditions at the annual economic forum of the Economic Journalists Association of the Philippines (EJAP) on Monday, Aug. 11.

The entire economic team, joined by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli M. Remolona Jr., will speak at the forum, which is themed “Midterm Momentum: Balancing Stability and Ambition” and will be held at the BSP Assembly Hall.

Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev) Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan will provide an overview of the country's current economic status and the roadmap for the remaining years of the Marcos administration, as the Philippines inches closer to becoming an upper-middle-income country.

Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto will elaborate on the government’s funding strategy for its growing budget, focusing on tax measures and non-tax programs to accelerate socioeconomic development.

Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman will discuss the upcoming 2026 National Expenditure Program, which is expected to be approved and submitted by President Marcos in the coming weeks.

Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Frederick D. Go will shed light on President Marcos’s marching orders to boost the country’s investments and ramp up economic activities.

Governor Remolona is expected to outline the BSP’s direction on interest rates amid the continued slowdown of inflation.

The Gold Sponsors are HSBC Philippines, Security Bank Corp., JTI, East West Banking Corp., and First Philippine Holdings Corp. Silver Sponsors include SM Investments Corp., BDO Unibank Inc., and DigiPlus Interactive Corp., while Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. and Philippine National Bank are the Bronze Sponsors.
