Drilon: No VP Duterte impeach trial if Sotto replaced as SP

MANILA, Philippines — Former Senate president Franklin Drilon said on Monday that he is confident an impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte would not move forward in the Senate if the majority replaces current Senate president Tito Sotto, adding that the impeachment complaints appear to be merely “a prelude” to the 2028 presidential race.
