MANILA, Philippines — Actor Donny Pangilinan and his father Anthony are chipping in to help Filipinos cope with the rising gas prices in the country as a result of the current geopolitical tension in the Middle East.

Anthony posted on Instagram a photo of him at a Silang gas station in Cavite, which his family owns. He wrote in his caption that he assessed the prices of fuel and its effect on their business and community.

The motivational speaker and author mentioned that Donny, his partner in the ownership, suggested what Anthony said "didn't make sense 'numbers wise' but was 100% in sync with our mission: support those who need it most."

Beginning March 17, the Pangilinans are reducing the prices for diesel products in their gas station — specifically P3 per liter — and absorbing part of the rising costs for their community members.

"The actual amounts are posted on site and we will keep it running for as long as we are able," Anthony said. "Let's all do what we can, while we can, for as long as we are able."

Anthony ended his caption quoting the cleric and theologian John Wesley, "Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can."
