IBA, Zambales — Zambales Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. and Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac led the ribbon cutting ceremony and inauguration of the DMW Zambales Provincial Office on Wednesday in Barangay Palanginan, Iba, Zambales.

The blessing, on the other hand, was officiated by Rev. Fr. Hanival Brucelas of Sta. Monica Parish.

This was followed by the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the provincial government of Zambales and DMW.

“This agreement symbolizes the strengthened collaboration between the local and national governments to enhance support and programs dedicated to our overseas Filipino workers (OFW),” said Ebdane, who emphasized the importance of having a provincial office to bring services closer to the people of Zambales.

Ebdane added that the opening of the DMW provincial office serves as a crucial step towards closer ties and stronger support for the OFWs and their families — a testament that service with heart continues to be delivered to the people of Zambales.

Meanwhile, livelihood assistance was awarded to 23 former OFWs under the DMW’s Balik Pinay, Balik Hanapbuhay program.

This initiative aims to provide new livelihood and opportunities for former Filipina OFWs, enabling them to restart and sustain their own businesses here in our country.
