IFFI President Allan Ryan Tan said that the festival has received invitations to showcase its vibrant cultural presentations at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan, and Auckland, New Zealand, this June and November, respectively.

"Our Dinagyang is set to take the international stage, and we are excited to showcase our strength and the Dinagyang warriors' resilience to the world," said Tan.

"Let's celebrate culture and unity," he added.

During the Dinagyang festivities, members of the Te Āmiorangi Taiohi tribe from Auckland gave a cultural presentation of Haka, a traditional Māori performance representing strength, unity and pride.

As preparations commence, Tan said IFFI is coordinating with relevant agencies to finalize travel arrangements and ensure that the performances authentically represent the festival's essence.

The Tribu Paghidaet of La Paz National High School was declared champion of the Dinagyang Tribes competition, while the Tultugan Festival of Maasin in the Iloilo province secured a back-to-back win in the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan.

City Mayor Jerry Treñas said the Dinagyang Festival has served as a reminder to the Ilonggos that it can stand the test of time, becoming stronger and prouder with each passing year.

"Our faith is intricately woven into the fabric of our daily lives, guiding us through both trials and triumphs. Through the challenges of yesterday and today, this faith remains unshaken, steadfast and true," he added.

The Dinagyang Festival, celebrated annually every fourth Sunday of January, honors the Santo Niño (Child Jesus) and is known for its energetic street dances, elaborate costumes and rich cultural heritage.
