MANILA, Philippines — Ten former Philippine National Police officials who were kicked out of the PNP for grave offenses have formed their own criminal syndicates, Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla said.

Remulla did not identify the fomer police officials who held the ranks of major and captain before they were dismissed from the PNP for grave offenses.

“We have 10 on our list,” Remulla said in a message on Viber, as he vowed to reveal their identities once the investigations are completed.

“One was arrested for rape while another was removed from service due to extortion,” he added.

Remulla said the ex-police officials, staying true to their nefarious ways, were found during the probe to be behind criminal gangs that are involved in extortion and kidnapping, among other crimes.

“We are facing a problem where former PNP officials are behind the criminal syndicates,” he added.
