GoTyme Bank, the digital banking arm of the Gokongwei Group, has launched Go Crypto, a new feature within its app allowing Filipinos nationwide to own and manage cryptocurrency investments.
Built on regulatory compliance and security, Go Crypto offers users a way to explore crypto investing with the backing of a Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas-licensed financial institution (BSP).
The feature enables users to invest in 11 cryptocurrencies—including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Ripple (XRP), Polkadot (DOT), Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Avalanche (AVAX), Uniswap (UNI), Chainlink (LINK), and Aave (AAVE)—directly within the GoTyme Bank app. The bank noted that transactions occur within a closed-loop system.
“Go Crypto is about expanding the investing horizon for Filipinos in a way that’s secure, simple, and built on trust,” said GoTyme Bank President and CEO Nathaniel Clarke. “For too long, crypto investing has felt complicated or out of reach. We’re changing that by giving Filipinos a platform that’s simple, intuitive, and built on the same rock-solid infrastructure that powers our everyday banking.”
He added that the launch is “another meaningful step forward on our journey to unlock the full financial potential of our customers.”
GoTyme Bank is a BSP-licensed Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP), ensuring Go Crypto operates under strict regulatory oversight. The bank stated that every listed asset undergoes "bank-grade due diligence."
The Go Crypto launch is part of GoTyme Bank’s broader strategy to expand investment access for Filipinos.
However, GoTyme cautioned that cryptocurrency assets are not deposits and are "highly volatile and speculative, involving substantial risk of loss." The bank noted that the investments are not insured by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) or any government agency.
“Customers should be aware of the various risks prior to engaging these services, including potential loss of principal, regulatory developments, and the evolving nature of virtual asset technology,” the bank said.
