The launch of the eGovPH hub in Cebu brings government services closer to more Filipinos

MANILA, Philippines — The eGovPH app has reached 40 million downloads as the government accelerates efforts to bring its services directly to the people, combining physical hubs and digital platforms.
The launch of Bagong Pilipinas eGovPH Serbisyo Hub in Mandaue City would enable Cebuanos to access services from agencies such as the Social Security System, Philippine Statistics Authority, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Health and Department of Social Welfare and Development in one location, reducing the need to travel between offices.
At the same time, the government’s digital push continues to expand, with the eGovPH super app serving as a one-stop-shop for public services nationwide, now integrated with more than 1,000 government systems for transactions such as digital IDs; financial and medical services; support and issuance of certificates, permits and other digital documents; and social services such job creation, citizens help desk and hotlines.
Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Undersecretary for eGovernment David Almirol Jr. said the combination of physical hubs and digital platforms represents a shift in how government delivers services.
“Whether through the eGovPH super app or the eGov Serbisyo Hub, we are bringing services closer to our kababayans,” Almirol said.
He noted that the platform has addressed long-standing inefficiencies in government transactions, particularly long queues and repetitive requirements.
Almirol added that users now only need to input their personal information once, which can be securely shared across participating agencies, reducing redundancy and processing time.
The DICT official said the app is supported by a growing digital ecosystem, including eGovAI, eGovDocs for paperless transactions, and integration with the digital national ID system, which now covers around 90 million Filipinos.
The milestone of 40 million downloads already meets the government’s 2026 target, with the DICT aiming to reach 60 million users by 2028.
Almirol said future updates will allow users to access academic records such as diplomas and transcripts, as well as other government-issued certificates, directly through the app.
Officials said the dual approach of physical service hubs and digital platforms is designed to eliminate congestion in government offices and reduce opportunities for fixers, while improving transparency and efficiency.
